Little Johnny was constantly late for school, and what was worse, he always had a huge lie to explain why.
The teacher finally told the principal, “I’ve had it with his exaggerations.”
The principal replied, “Send Johnny to me the next time he’s late. I’ll tell him a lie so big he’ll never tell another one.”
The very next day, Johnny showed up two hours late.
Johnny said, “I was two hours early today, so I stopped to fish in the pond on my way to school. I caught a 17-pound trout and had to take it home. If I didn’t clean it and freeze it, my mom would’ve been angry. That’s why I’m late.”
The teacher immediately took Johnny to the principal’s office and explained the story.
The principal looked at Johnny and said, “On my way to school today, I was walking through the park when I heard something behind me.
I turned around and saw a giant grizzly bear—24 feet tall with six-inch fangs—coming straight at me to eat me!
Suddenly, a little dog jumped out of the bushes, attacked the bear, killed it, and then ate the whole bear right in front of me. What do you think of that, Johnny?”
Johnny nodded and replied calmly, “Oh yeah… that’s my dog Sparky. That was his third bear this week.”
